Yes, the CPU can be upgraded

The i7-3740QM and the i7-3720QM are compatible quads. These are quad cores with 8 threads.
Yours 3340M is a 2 core/4 threads which is why you see “Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3340M CPU @ 2.70GHz”
four times.

I have sold and upgraded hundreds of these for a technology refurbishing company.
